It was a Beautiful Thing....

It was a beautiful thing....warm fellowship....

loud chain saws.... great camaraderie....

hard, heavy work....heavenly creativity....

it truly was a beautiful thing....

look below to see what I saw this morning.

Our neighbor across the street has a tree in his front yard that

had seen better days...so sad, but it had to go....but how many

of us have $1000 sitting around to have a tree cut down?

So it stayed there....far too long....last September this tree lost

a limb when Hurricane Ike made his presence in Louisville and

tore down Jimmy's power line and he was without power for

almost two weeks!!!

The pastor of our local First Baptist Church had a team here

from a sister church in North Carolina....they had been here

all week long and had cleaned up 40 yards in our area....

Jimmy was their next to last stop for the week and then they

were on their way back home after a

wonderful week of "paying it forward".

They brought this bad boy down in about an hour....

all 8 of them working like a little ant farm....cleaning

up the area and piling up the branches as they went along.

By the way, they didn't wreck the little red truck, it was

already like that...although a couple of nice

hefty branches fell across it, this was much better

than tearing down the freshly installed power line.

This one was a real team effort!!  ;-)

Anyone wanna try cutting a huge limb ABOVE your head?  Not me!!

He did a great job and was relieved when it was done!

The rest of this is on You Tube...just click the "forward" buttons

and watch....it was a beautiful thing...;-)

Well, that was my original plan,

but the videos are too large for You Tube...;-(

Stand by, I'm working on other options...

As each tree was cut down this week and when time

allowed, the pastor, Scott Coon would carve a

heart and a cross into the stump.  He had already

finished the stump and was carving this one to

take back to his church.

It truly was a beautiful thing.
