"The Move"

Well, here goes the big one....originally I moved from a 2000 sq ft house into a 1000 sq ft apartment minus an ex-husband and the other half of the junk and thought I had culled out all the rest of the junk... lmao!!!  If you've never noticed, junk grows when you're sleeping....honest it really does!!  *grins*

This is our temporary kitchen and believe me when I say "temporary"....because it only lasted one week...then it was relocated to the utility room while the kitchen cabinets and floor are being ripped out and replaced.

This is where I slept for the first week...on the floor on an inflatable mattress...my "curtains" were doors that had been removed from the closet...lol

My "other curtains" were a piece of particle board and the cardboard from the new bathtub....not bad since it was either that or nothing...lol

Boxes got piled on top of boxes and most of the furniture went into one room.

Our makeshift living room...at least we had cable and could watch tv....not that we have time to watch tv!  lol

And, of course, we managed to get a computer set up....didn't have time for that either....lol

Our dining area....along with tv trays...;-)

It took us two 15' truckloads, 10 loads in full sized pick up trucks, 7 loads in the station wagon, 2 loads in a full sized van, 3 loads in my sister's police cruiser and I can't remember how many trips in my car...lol...we finally got moved out of the apartment at 10:00pm on the night of the 31st of July.

There are so many people we want and need to thank for helping us with this insurmountable endeavor!!

1.My mom, Faye, (for trying to fill in for my daughter, Angie, who has packed up my kitchen the last 5 times I've moved) who after one grueling day ended up in the hospital from exhaustion...she's fine now...;-)

2. My sister, Karyla, for helping to pack and clean every time she could and for keeping our laundry done (in between working 2 jobs and keeping up her own apartment and laundry).

3. My sister, Amy, for allowing us to borrow and keep her pick up truck for over two weeks and doing a beautiful job of cleaning up my car while she had it....;-)

4. Michael's brother Bruce, for his help in loading furniture and unloading the trucks as they arrived.

5. Michael's friend from work , William, for helping load and unload and deliver lumber for us with his mom's pick up and bringing us supper on occasion.

6. My friend from work, Michael, who helped load, pack and unload along with 2 trips in his van, even though we did interrupt his dinner one evening, he really didn't mind...;-)

7. Tony, our plumber who left his plumbing responsibilities to help unload the trucks when they arrived.

8. Tony's girlfriend, Nicole for being young and capable of running up and down the stairs like a little bolt of lightening and carrying everything she could while doing it....(Michael and I "remember" and want to be able to do that again...lol)

9. Robbie and Jim, friends of ours, for their "muscle" in the move...they moved one load in their truck and helped get out all the heavy furniture and carry it all in to the new house again.

We absolutely could not have done it without any of you and are deeply indebted....thanks again from the bottom of our hearts...;-)

Email us with comments, suggestions and criticisms too,

but please be gentle...lol
