Seven Months and We're "Movin On Up!"
Ya' know....as the months have passed and the photographic journal has grown, the changes, to all of you viewing them from the web, have seemed small and insignificant....lately nothing has seemed as dramatic as the changes of the bathroom or the kitchen....let me tell you something...we're about to see a HUGE change!!!
You haven't heard me "whining" about it...but Michael has!! Actually, I
don't whine, I just come right out and say what's on my mind....and for the past
four months, I've been thinking, "WHEN DO WE GET TO MOVE UPSTAIRS!!!" LOL
Well. the day is growing near....everyday, we get closer and closer....;-)
He got all the carpet tack strips in place....then the carpet pad.
And the carpet came next...;-) He laid the carpet in the second bedroom too!
He did all that in between framing up the door...
and building a door for the attic hatch.
He found it easier to build the window frames as one piece then install them.
What a man!
He was just finishing up the windows when he ran out of everything. Jimmy, our lifesaver of a neighbor...always there to help out...and clown
around! We couldn't have done any of this without the help and generosity of
our family and friends....Mom and Carroll have given us doors and wood and
lighting fixtures.....Daddy and Sherilyn just gave a very nice storm and
exterior door and a whole load of exterior paneling that Michael can use to
cover the outside of the garage!! Thanks guys...;-) Michael sent me to Lowe's for window casing and border trim. And this is what you look like when the only thing you have to haul home 16'
lengths of trim is a Cadillac!!! Those terrific guys at Lowe's tied it on
top and tied me inside the car....lol My hero cut me loose....;-) Monday, February 23rd, while I was at work, Michael moved the bedroom suite
upstairs....but when it came time to move up the waterbed mattress, he enlisted
some help....rofl!! They felt sorry for him because he had worked so hard, so he got to watch... while they moved the "300 pound amoeba" inside the bed frame...lol The bedroom came together very quickly...actually a joy to do....;-) I was so happy to see that bed fill up I could barely contain myself!!
;-) Oops....we're still missing a drawer...lol But the lights work and the bed is full....that's all i care about...;-)
These are the leftovers in my old bedroom....lol...I'll be so glad to be able
to get in there and start sorting things out....and actually have enough room to
do it!! ;-)
Ugh! The dust....it never stops....not in the middle of this mess!! ALLLLL of my clothes are now upstairs in the walk in closet and these closets
will transform into sewing room storage!! And my sewing room is a wreck but still useful as I'll be doing window
treatments for the new bedroom now....the old dark blue bedroom will become the
new sewing room once the "tornado" gets in there and covers the blue paint and
repairs the drywall....lol And tonight, sleeping in this warm toasty bed will be a delight... I'm a
VERY HAPPY CAMPER right now ;-)
