Our First Thanksgiving
(in our new home)
What you're seeing is the office in the middle of the drywall process...;-)
Michael didn't know he was racing
the Thanksgiving clock...lol...thank goodness he made excellent progress on
Wednesday and got the rest of the office/dining room dry walled because we got a
phone call late Wednesday evening informing us that my mom was ill with a flu
bug and didn't want to infect everyone and that we were
having Thanksgiving for everyone at our house.
The first problem was that the only
dining table we have at the moment is the glass top table you see in the
background of this picture....perfect for four people. Only. Four. People.
So my wonderful little carpenter got
to work building us all a table to serve up dinner....those old sliding closet doors
never looked so good....lol
By the time the first guests
arrived, he had the dining room ready.
Karyla & Renae' work their magic on
the dumplings.
You think they were having any fun?
lol
The buffet was spread from the table
to the stairs and we were really glad the stairs were there....lol
Wes dished up the candied yams.
Everyone REALLY was having a good
time, but the concentration was heavy on how to get your plate full BEFORE you
sat down...lol
It was a wonderful
Thanksgiving...but we all sure missed Mom and Carroll, my stepfather....;-)
Eleven adults, two toddlers and a
newborn ate til they were stuffed....thanks Karyla for the candied yams,
broccoli casserole, pies and that scrumptious cake....;-)
And, of course, we had to pose for
pics to show mom that we were all here and everyone had plenty to eat...lol...as
if there was a doubt!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and
yours...;-)
