"Three Weeks In...."

Three weeks in the new house and this is the way things look....
Michael has climbed all over the house and sealed all the vinyl at the
corners and around the roof and the dumpster is gone for now.
The garage
has a brand new roof and the side that was sagging is now rebuilt....it still needs a face lift
on the outside, but the good news
is that it no longer leaks anywhere.
We also
managed to get Michael's car painted amidst all the hoopla. We think it just looks
great!!!
We've had our
first cookout....Michael's mom was here last night and we sat out on the back
porch while he removed nails from scrap lumber salvaged from the house and grilled
pork chops on the grill.
All the
remains of the old garage roof (two layers...ugh) have been removed and the back yard policed....it
looks pretty good...;-)
We got the
central A/C installed yesterday and they did a terrific job....this is our new A/C unit and it cools the entire house beautifully....the ugly old A/C unit
will be removed from upstairs window as soon as we're finished with all the drywall.
All the duct work was redone and is now very efficient.
Fencing has
been installed to meet the back fence.
Our living
room is
taking shape more and more everyday, but it won't be complete until the surround
sound is set up....one of Michael's dreams...;-)
This house is really huge, much larger than we first thought...it's really
nice not to have "bumper-to-bumper" furniture anymore.
We have a temporary computer room with both our computers set up.
....and the beat goes on....lol
We got the
waterbed set up and cable run throughout the house.
My closet is
still a passage way, but at least I have some place to hang my clothes....;-)
My dresser
has moved to the middle bedroom with clothes for both of us in it for the time
being....Michael's dresser is blocked with boxes....;-|
Michael got
the front storm door repaired and it actually has glass in it now.
And he has
spent the last two whole days just getting the inside of the garage in
shape....all the old kitchen cabinets have made terrific shelves and cabinets
for him.
And all his
wood is cleaned from loose nails and organized...it's really shaping up....we'll
have to store some of the new kitchen cabinets here on Wednesday evening.
And he has
some new pegboard and shelving, too!!
He took one
of the doors that was not usable from inside the house and covered it with
waterproof backsplash he found in the garage and it fit perfect in the side
doorway of the garage.
I got the
old rusty swing stand painted this weekend....we're in the market for a swing
now...;-)
Bruce and his son, Greg came over
one day and removed the two layers of roofing tiles on the other side of the garage
and reroofed it to match the side Michael did and it looks great!!
On Saturday he got the water heater
and bathroom closet framed in and installed sliding mirrored doors. Now
the bathroom just needs drywall mud, trimwork and paint. WHEW!! This man
NEVER stops!!! ;-)
Email us with comments, suggestions and criticisms too,
but please be gentle...lol
