Two Months and Still Kicking!!!
Well, here we are...two months in our new home and not only are we still kicking, we're still painting, hammering,
sanding, sawing and cleaning...all those fun things that go along with remodeling...lol
I was going through withdrawals from my sewing machines...the next mission was
to get a makeshift sewing room set up for me...
The
first step was empty out the room....argh....that seems to be the story of our lives
lately, we get a room all fixed up then we have to mess it up again moving
things from one room to another...lol
After that, Michael had to do a temporary repair on the ceiling.
I have a beautiful sewing table, but we couldn't find the legs, so my sweetie
went to work again with makeshift legs...*smiles*...he's so awesome...;-)
And now, I
finally have a sewing room again...;-)
Michael got the wood trim in the bathroom...around the window, door and all the of the floor.
And we
bought all the towel bars, rings and etc.
We decided that we just couldn't live with the temporary computer room the way it was...it's still not the best arrangement
but at least better than it was...;-)
We finally got the window treatments up in the living room...but again, they're
just makeshift for now because I still haven't found all my drapey swag
fabric....lol
Next, my mother decided to empty her garage of all the stuff I had out
there..."since you all have all kinds of room now!" ...lol
We have Marilyn Monroe pictures
sitting everywhere...we've GOT to get them up on the walls before the glass gets
broken!!
Everywhere,
even our adored kitchen was all piled up with boxes and junk....ugh,
but we had a yard sale and got rid of most of it...it was primarily extra fabric
and sewing supplies that I really didn't need or want any longer.
Then I tackled something that I've been wanting to do for a long time...rejuvenate an old preacher's bench that my sister
had given me almost 3 years ago...I just hadn't had a place to do it before now. As it sat in the living room, an idea
began formulating...I wanted to set it beneath my Marilyn Monroe pictures...so I painted it to match the mats I had cut
for Marilyn...my sister had the idea of painting the lower part of it a few
shades darker...and I just knew I had to get gold
on it somewhere to match the frames...here was the process and I just love the results...;-)
And then there was my birthday and these are just a few of the wonderful gifts I received. Michael bought me a new case
for my computer with a rainbow fluorescent light inside and Plexiglas windows on the side.
My mom got me a "Little Red Riding Hood" Tea Set to add to my
collection...hopefully I can get the rest of the sets out real soon...;-)
Mom also got
me an angel tea light holder.
My sister gave me my very own "Bucky" neck pillow...she has two of them and
I have been "coveting" hers...lol Thanks Sis!! ;-)
And this is what I bought myself..*smiles*...it's handmade and I love it! ;-)
